HAV Splint (M)

Deviation of the big toe towards the outer side is medically known as hallux valugus. It may be due to inheritance, hyperpronated foot or improper shoe fitting (extreme narrow or pointed shoe). Bunion may form and cause problem in wearing shoe, overlapping of toes results in severe case.

Feature:

The HAV Splint is a resting splint, only for static use (e.g. sleeping). It applies a 3- point pressure system to relieve the hallux valugus deformity.

Directions of use:

lRelease the Velcro strap and apply the HAV Splint on the big toe (fig. 1)

lDraw the Velcro beneath the foot and across the foot dorsum, let the Velcro pass through the slit of the plastic clasp. (fig 2)

lTighten the Velcro and secure it until the big toe appears to be correctly positioned. (fig. 3)

Wash with tap water, dry, then scatter with baby powder, take away the powder in excess before apply on the foot.

Notice:

It is not suggested to use the HAV Splint when severe bunion pain and stiffness of first metatarsalphalangeal joint (big toe joint) exist. If toe pain arises after using the HAV Splint, stop using it immediately and consult specialist if necessary.
